Exercise: Reflection

To become more aware of your expectations, think about the following:

  • In what situations do you feel disappointed?
  • Do you often feel disappointed in yourself?
  • Do you often feel disappointed in others?
  • Are there situations that keep recurring?
  • What demands and expectations do you have of yourself?
  • Are these demands and expectations higher than you can realistically meet?
  • Do you want to keep creating expectations when you know the result might be disappointment?
