Exercise: Reflection
Consider the following questions to become more aware of your actions:
- When do you act in a way that you are satisfied with?
- When do you act in a way that you are dissatisfied with?
- Are there specific actions that are typical for you?
- Can you recognize emotions that often accompany these actions?
- Do you often feel guilty?
- Do you often take responsibility for others?
- Do you often feel overly kind?
Evaluate Your Actions and Reactions
- In which situations, or with which automatic reactions, do you end up in a negative state?
- Which automatic actions lead to a positive state?
Reflect on the Thoughts Behind Your Actions
It’s your thoughts that determine whether you choose to engage in tasks or not. Your inner dialogue governs what you choose to say yes or no to.
Practice identifying the thoughts you have in various situations.
