Focus on the variations and intensity of pain

Pain varies in strength and intensity. Some people experience more pain in the morning, while others feel it more strongly in the evening.

Pay attention to when the pain is at its strongest and how you feel when the pain is weaker. This can provide valuable insights into how your mental state influences the pain.

When you experience pain, use the StopStress Exercise to focus on what you were thinking or feeling when the pain occurred.

If the pain increases in a specific situation, it may be helpful to examine whether you were active at the time, which could indicate inflammation. If that’s the case, it might be wise to have it checked and work on reducing the inflammation.

Practice noticing whether you’re feeling irritated as well. Irritation can worsen pain.

By using the StopStress Exercise, you can reduce irritation, and you might find that the pain also decreases when irritation no longer demands your attention.
