Exercise: Reflection

Start by training your focus by noticing when you are in a negative state with negative emotions, when you are in a neutral state, and when you are in a positive state. Observe how these different states feel.

 

What can you do when you are in a negative state?

  1. Be aware of your mood.
  2. Stay focused – What are you thinking about? What are you telling yourself

 

Is your focus negative? Identify the negative feeling and use the StopStress Exercise.

 

  • Did you have an expectation about the situation?
  • Is the situation in conflict with a truth you hold?
  • Is there an unmet need?

Find out what you need right now. Give yourself time for what is important to you, and be kind to yourself.
