What happens when negative consequences arise?
When you experience a consequence, practice identifying the strongest emotion that accompanies it.
Stay with this emotion until its intensity decreases. Continue to train yourself to see the entire pattern and observe what you think and feel in different situations. If you have negative emotions, practice getting out of them as quickly as possible.
Examples of emotions that can arise from negative consequences, such as after an argument:
- Feelings of discomfort
- Conflict or discord
- The person avoids or rejects you
- Feelings of being insignificant
- Anger or dislike
- Punishing attitude toward yourself
- Bad atmosphere
- Low energy
- Feelings of being offended
